It's time to support your DWC women candidates*** running locally.  
They are all inviting you to participate in their campaigns!

Here are some specific ways to help:

Amanda Barge for Commissioner 3
      Amanda would love to have you come to her Thursday event with some canned goods for the Ellettsville Food Pantry 279. She also needs a few more letters written on her behalf, yard sign locations and folks to walk with her. [email protected]

Darcie Fawcett for Judge Division 1
     Darcie is looking for people to walk with her in the next couple of weeks. Contact her at [email protected]

Penny Githens for Representative District 60  
     While Penny doesn't have a primary opponent, her district extends into Morgan county and she's been working really hard to make contacts and meet people there now, in preparation for the fall.   
     Penny has need for folks to walk with her (and surrogates, too!). She needs writers for letters to the editor, and would like to start talking to supporters about fundraisers and friend-raisers. She is also looking for yard sign locations. [email protected]

Holly Harvey for Judge Division 1
     Holly would like any help that fits your particular skill set! Sign locations, sign placement, letters, surrogates! [email protected]

Lee Jones for County Council at Large
     Lee is keeping her fingers crossed as she has no primary opponent right now and there are no candidates on the other side for the fall (as of yet). She asks that the DWC put any efforts to campaigns of others in the primary. [email protected]

Jessica McClellan for Treasurer
     Jessica needs help with walking partners, help with some letters in support of her candidacy, introductions to various groups that you belong to, and with social media - post your pictures with her and let everyone know she's running! contact her at [email protected]

Cheryl Munson for County Council at Large

Terri Porter for Auditor

Julie Thomas for Commissioner District 2

Joani Shields for Coroner
     Joani does not have a primary opponent and requests that the DWC efforts be devoted to those who do need help at this time. She will ask for help for the general election as she does have an opponent then.

Caucus for Monroe County Clerk
Monday, March 21, 5:00 p.m. at the Nat U. Hill Room, Monroe County Courthouse
     There will be a caucus to fill the vacancy for Monroe County Clerk of the Courts, following the recent resignation of Clerk Linda Robbins.
Candidates are Nicole Browne, Ashley Cranor and Caren Stoll.  Only Precinct Chairs from the county central committee vote in this caucus, but folks can come to watch this process.  It's a fascinating one! Mark Fraley can be reached at [email protected].

Special Edition of WOMENSPACE on WFHB!
     For a number of years the host of WFHB’s women’s music show “Womenspace”, has been asked to put together a playlist of music to play at the Women’s History Month Lunch. That playlist was then broadcast during a subsequent edition of Womenspace. This year that show will occur on March 24 from 9-11pm on WFHB 91.3fm (98.1fm Bloomington, 100.7fm Brown County, 106.3fm Ellettsville) and streaming live at www.wfhb.org.
The show can also be heard for the following two weeks via the station’s radiofreeamerica app available on the website.
     This will be a special fund-drive version of Womenspace so you can also make your donation (call 812-323-1200 or pledge on their secure website at wfhb.org) and support women and sent a message about the importance of Women's History Month all at once!

Due to Spring Break and a scheduling issue, this meeting has been rescheduled to the last Tuesday of the Month.

     This fundraiser is a great way to meet candidates and fellow Democrats and learn about the party organization. It is an opportunity to support the party organization, as it works on behalf of candidates and office holders, and in the pursuit of advancing Democratic ideals and good governance at all levels. The Monroe County Election Board Announces Early Voting Dates:
We have second location for early voting!!!
Early voting for the May 3rd Primary Election will start on April 5, 2016 and end on May 2, 2016.
     Absentee Voting will be available:
at the Election Central location only at 401 W 7th St. Suite 100.
April 5-8 from 8am-6pm
April 11-15 from 8am-6pm
at Election Central and at the new second location -
Room 201-202, North Showers Building, 501 N. Morton Street:
April 18-22 8am-6pm
April 23 9am-6pm - Saturday
April 25-April 29 8am-6pm
April 30 9am-6pm - Saturday
and MONDAY May 2 8am-12pm.

Absentee Voting begins April 5 - workers are needed:
from 8am-6pm on Mon. - Fri., April 5-29,
9am - 6pm Sat. April 23 & 30 and
8am-Noon on May 2.

Help Wanted 2: Can You Work The Polls on Election Day as an Inspector, Clerk, Judge or Sheriff?
May 3rd is the Primary Election and with it being a Presidential Primary the Clerk's office and Election Board have beefed up the staff at several polling places, and in some cases added polling locations.
TO VOLUNTEER for this paid election activity, please let Mary Norman know via EMAIL at [email protected] or TEXT/CALL at 812-650-2823 if you are interested.  She will then forward info on training.
